Terry L. Harris, 55, of Sioux City died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sioux City Elks Club, 1001 Tri View Ave. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel.

Terry was born on May 29, 1952, in Sioux City, the son of Gerald "Bugger" Harris and Jeanne (Schwedler) Holden. Except for a brief time, he lived his entire life in Sioux City, attending Sioux City Public Schools including Central High School. He worked a short time at IBP prior to working at Brower Construction a few years. For the last 22 years, he had been a fork-lift operator on the loading dock at John Morrell Co.

After 18 years together, he married Nellie Beavers on Oct. 19, 2005, in Elk Point, S.D.

He was a member of the Sioux City Elks Club. Terry was an avid fisherman, enjoyed stock car racing, backyard barbecues and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie; his children, Terry (Lisa) Schrank of Omaha, Troy Harris and his special friend, Jolene of North Sioux City, Robert Trudeau of Sioux Falls, S.D., Anthony (Dawn) Watkins of Akron, Iowa, Jamie (Tabitha) Kratz of North Sioux City, Jessie Kratz and his special friend, Tanya of Alcester, S.D., and Ashley (Jerry) French of Sioux City; his mother and stepfather, Jeanne "Smokey" and Dick Holden of Sioux City; grandchildren, Whitney Keairns, Tanner Brodersen, Jessica Butcher, Caelin Schrank, Anthony Watkins Jr., Taiyler Schrank, Devin Petersen, Briannah Watkins, Brandon Harris, Gunnar Kratz, Jessica Kratz, Zachary Schrank, Payton French, Kaleb French, Madisen Kratz, Elyzibeth Jeffords, Tommy Garvin, Hailey Watkins and Johnathan Watkins; three brothers, Mike Harris and his special friend, Carol of Jefferson, S.D., Bernie (Kathy) Harris of North Sioux City, and David (Anita) Harris of Fort Dodge, Iowa; two sisters, Vicki (Randy) Johnson and Debbie Cook, all of

Sioux City; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and his dear companion and TV buddy, Sissy.

He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Tammy; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of Siouxland.
