Steven Allen Meyer

SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Steven Allen Meyer, 49, of South Sioux City went to meet with his Lord on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at his home.
Memorial services will be Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien, Wis. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City.
Steven was a longtime employee at IBP, working there for approximately 29 years. He enjoyed his work, having an outstanding work record with his supervisors. He was also a great cook, mixing up some mean macaroni and cheese. He also loved using his metal detector on various adventures, was a Kung Fu movie buff and lifted weights the last few years to stay in shape. His mom thinks of him as her "gentle giant."
Survivors include his mother, Ruth Meyer of Prairie du Chien; his brother, David Picha of Prairie du Chien; his sister, Sandy Schmit of Baraboo, Wis., Kim (Tom) Cathman of Fennimore, Wis., and Cindy (Rod) Hamann of Sioux City; as well as several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Meyer.
