Stacey Jean Groce

Stacey Jean Groce (Carpenter), age 50, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She was born the daughter of Pamela (Clausi) and Gary Carpenter on March 16, 1974.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beautiful daughters, Carrie (Tim) Carpenter, Rachel Carpenter and Stephanie (Jeffery) Groce (daughter of Chris Groce); sisters, Shelly and Sarah Carpenter; nieces, Ashley (Zack) Reed, Austin (Brody) Boysel, and Adrianna Limon; aunt, Joyce Clausi; long time companion, Jason Trump; many close great-nieces and nephews, cousins, stepchildren, as well as so many others that loved her beyond words.

Stacey was born in Des Moines, Iowa, where she spent a lot of her formative years as a daughter, sister, mother, wife and friend. Later years, she resided in St. Joseph, Missouri, where she continued to grow as a person, love her family and build her life. In her most recent years, she resided in Sioux City, Iowa, where she continued to flourish as a woman, love her children and importantly love herself. Through all of these years, Stacey was Stacey. She was one of a kind. She was strong, fearless, passionate, hardworking and courageous. Regardless of where she was in life, she did the most, did her best and she made sure she was having fun doing it. At the end of the day, she was the absolute life of the party and the brightest in the room. Stacey’s people were important to her, she loved her daughters beyond words, as well as her family and friends. She made an impact on every single person she crossed paths with and she absolutely loved making people laugh. Her life was significant and she will continue to live through every single person she had a connection to.

Stacey was preceded in death by her mother, Pamela Clausi; uncle, Frank “Buddy” Clausi; and two grandchildren in heaven. She is now at peace being reunited with her mother and angel grandbabies. Stacey loved her mother immensely and she couldn’t wait to be a grandma. We can be thankful for the time we got to spend with her here on earth, but now she is able to spend her time with her loved ones that gained their wings before she did.

Details for Stacey’s Celebration of life will be determined and shared soon as the family navigates this incredibly hard loss of an unbelievable woman.
