Shandy (Grant) Mizner

Sioux City, IA – Shandy Grant Mizner, age 39, of Sioux City, passed away October 10, 2023, after battling cancer for four years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Monday, October 16, 2023, at St. Michael Catholic Church – Holy Cross Parish. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 pm Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Larkin Chapel, 2320 Outer Drive North, followed by a prayer vigil at 7:00 pm. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Shandy was born to Jerry and Lisa Grant on July 9, 1984, in Sioux City. She met the love of her life, Steve Mizner, 22 years ago and to that union a son, Axston, and daughter, Adalynn, were born. Her children were her prize possessions. She was the best mom ever. Her smile and sweetness touched many people.

She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She graduated from Heelan High School in 2003 and then attended Western Iowa Tech to become a pharmacy tech. She worked for Unity Point-St. Luke’s for 20 years and was selected as “Employee of the Month” by her co-workers. Shandy and sister Lexy were LuLaRoe distributors for a few years.

She leaves behind her husband, Steve Mizner; children Axston and Adalynn; parents, Jerry and Lisa Grant; sister, Lexy Bledsoe (Denman); nieces Braylynn and Aliviah; grandmothers Carol Grant and Jane Schuldt; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and her dog, Lady.

Her fierce and courageous battle these past years proved her to be the bravest person we ever knew and will be greatly missed.
