Ronda Rae Blundell

Ronda R. Blundell, 69, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, at her residence in Sloan, IA.

A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 am on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave, with visitation taking place two hours prior.

Ronda Rae Nelson, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Rouse) Nelson, was born June 24, 1956, in Sioux City, IA. She graduated from West High School in 1974 and went on to attend WITCC for Police Science.

In 1988, Ronda was united in marriage with Gilbert “Gil” Blundell. She held various jobs, eventually receiving her certification as a pharmacy technician. She worked at Greenville Pharmacy for many years. Her absolute favorite was Sergeant Bluff Pharmacy. She retired in 2025.

Ronda enjoyed crafting, baking, being silly, and watching TV (mainly the Food Network) with her cat. She also was fond of browsing antique stores and thrift shops, or shopping of any sort.

Ronda is survived by her husband, Gil of Sloan; children, Jennifer (Jones) Shuffield of Yukon, OK, Robby Blundell of Whiting, IA, and Sarah Blundell of Aurora, CO; one granddaughter, Mabyn; a sister, Paula Nelson of St. Paul, MN; and her cat daughter, Millie, of Sloan, IA.
