Lawton, IA – Robert J. “Bob” Williams, 91, formerly, of Sioux City, died Sunday, September 24, 2023, at an assisted living facility in Lawton.
A funeral service will be 10:00 am Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at

Bob was born March 17, 1932, in Bonesteel, SD, the son of Robert and Sophie (Wuest) Williams. He moved with his family to Woodbury County, Iowa in March of 1944.
Bob was married to Lela Mae Lines on August 30, 1951, in Sergeant Bluff, IA. They made their home in the Sergeant Bluff area. In 1959, Bob began working for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier. He retired in 1989.
After retirement, Bob enjoyed helping family and friends with their Spring and Fall farm work. He moved to Lawton Senior Living in Lawton, IA in March of 2021. Bob liked to travel, play cards, and do word search puzzles.
Bob is survived by a sister, Barbara Slocum of San Antonio, TX; a brother, Don (Virginia) Williams of Oregon; sisters-in-law, Mae Williams of Sergeant Bluff, Judy Lines McFadden of Battle Creek, MI, and Debbie Williams of Prescott, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela on October 10, 2020; two infant children, Jerry and Theresa; four sisters, Velma, Betty, Doris, and Donna; and four brothers, Kenneth, Clarence, Marvin, and Ronald.
