Mildred R. Bach

Mildred Bach was born Mildred Ruth Johnson in Estherville, Iowa, on January 31, 1933. She was the daughter of Lloyd and Mary Johnson, sister to her twin, Marilyn, and her younger sister, Ann.

Mildred went to high school and junior college in Estherville. She wanted to teach little children. She graduated from Wayne State College with a degree in elementary education. She taught at Emerson in Sioux City. Here she met Lloyd Bach, and they married on August 25, 1963. They had two daughters, Julie and Jennifer, and one grandson, Andy Emerick.

Mildred retired from teaching as a Second-Grade teacher at McKinley. She was involved in Circle at church and was in AAUW and Lit Group. She was a swimmer, played the piano, read books, and mowed. She loved her family and friends. She passed on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel (1801 Morningside Ave) with a Visitation taking place one hour prior.
