Michael Gene Talkington

Michael Gene Talkington, 76, passed away on April 30, 2026, at a hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Michael was born on January 16, 1950, to Elgan and Navajean (Perry) Talkington in Torrence, California. When he was only four years old, the family moved to Sioux City, Iowa. Michael graduated from Leeds High School. He entered the United States Army in May 1969, serving in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in January 1972.

On May 12, 1972, Michael married Marianne E. Leng.

Michael was a Postal Maintenance Engineer for the United States Postal Service, and a member of the NRA. In his spare time, Michael enjoyed fishing, collecting and shooting guns, archery, and cooking. As an animal lover, he loved all his dogs.

Michael is survived by his wife, Marianne Talkington. He was preceded in death by his parents.
