Michael E. Stevenson

Michael Edward Stevenson, age 72, of Sioux City, IA passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023, at home, surrounded by his family.

A memorial service will be 10:30 am Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., with visitation one hour prior.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.christysmith.com.

Michael was born in Anderson, Indiana on June 29, 1951, the son of Mahlon and Norma (Fowler) Stevenson and was the oldest of six children.

On March 9, 1973, Michael was married to Glenna Kelly, but they were later divorced.  From this union their daughter, Danielle, was born. 

On August 16^th, 1986, Michael married Shelley Pierce, and from this union three sons were born, Michael II, Chad, and Nicholas.

Michael was a musician and played in many bands throughout his life. He later joined New Heart Ministry to sing for local nursing homes.  Singing and playing music was the passion in his life.

Michael also worked as a windshield repair operator for his business, “All Clear Windshield”, and later drove for the railroad crews.

He is survived by his wife, Shelley of 37 years; daughter, Danielle (Gary) James; sons, Michael (Lacy Foster) Stevenson II, Chad (Laura) Stevenson, and Nicholas Stevenson; one granddaughter; three grandsons; one step-grandson; and three great-grandchildren; siblings, Stevie Stevenson and Ronnie (Angie Mata) Stevenson; mother-in-law, Mary Pierce; brothers-in-law, Parnell (Pam) Pierce, Lance (Karla) Pierce; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; Mahlon and Norma Stevenson; sister, Kathy, and brother-in-law, Fred Doan; brothers, Mahlon “Red” Stevenson and Tim Stevenson; sister-in-law, Candy Stevenson; and father-in-law, Donald Pierce.
