Michael "Mike" Dale Ewoldt

December 28, 1953 — March 16, 2023

Michael “Mike” D. Ewoldt entered into heaven’s gates into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital after a long battle with cancer. For two years Mike has been an amazing witness of God’s mercy and grace as he battled cancer. Never once was he angry or bitter but praised God continuously for each day he had knowing his faith rested in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What a triumphant home coming he must have received by friends and family in heaven! A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, at Morningside Bible Church, 6100 Morningside Avenue with Pastor Terry Embke officiating. Mike was born December 28, 1953, in Cherokee, Iowa, the son of Dale and Charlotte Ewoldt. He graduated from East High School in 1972 and Morningside College in 1976 with a BA in Business Administration. Mike married Debbie Andersen in Sioux City on June 11, 1977. The couple was married 45 years. Mike worked in retail most of his life and as a Pharmacy Technician for the past seven years. He was active in his church at Morningside Bible Church and personally welcomed people every Sunday at the Welcome Desk. Everyone looked forward to seeing Mike’s smiling face when they entered the church every week. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Debbie (Andersen) Ewoldt, his brother Larry of Denver, CO and his sister Terri of Spencer, IA, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his grandparents, parents and an older sister Linda. A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help with medical and funeral expenses at gofundme.com/f/michael-ewoldt.
