Martha was born on May 28, 1931, in Sioux City to John and Freda (Thompson) Schoberg. She graduated from East High School in 1950, attended National Business Training School (NBT), and worked as a bookkeeper for Kaplan Wholesale and later Schoeneman Lumber for many years. She met Norman "Keith" Seehusen at a dance, and they were married on February 10, 1962, at Immaculate Conception Church. Keith preceded her in death on November 10, 2014.
A lifelong member of Mater Dei Parish (Immaculate Conception/Church of the Nativity), Martha was also a member of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA). She enjoyed playing cards and board games, watching college basketball and March Madness, visiting casinos with friends, and playing bingo at Sunrise.
Martha loved spending time with her family, especially her two grandsons, Tyler and Trevor Derochie. Following her retirement, she helped care for them before they started school and took great joy in attending their sporting events over the years. She will be greatly missed.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Ronald Derochie of Hinton, Iowa; her grandsons, Tyler and Trevor Derochie of Hinton, Iowa; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Roger Davis of Ida Grove, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sisters, Freda Book and Ann Kellen; and her niece, Ellen Sokolowski.
