Marilyn Jean Main

Marilyn Jean “Jeanie” Main, 77, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, in Sioux City, Iowa.

Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11:00am at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel (1801 Morningside Ave) with a Visitation taking place one hour prior. Her final resting place will be Floyd Township Cemetery in Bronson, Iowa.

Jeanie was born on September 28, 1948, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Harley and Florence (Buckland) Amick. While born in Sioux City, Jeanie was raised in Bronson and attended Lawton-Bronson High School.

On November 25, 1967, Jeanie was united in marriage to Dan R. Main in South Dakota. The couple were together for 48 years and had 2 kids, Barbara and Scott. Dan passed away on September 21, 2016.

Jeanie was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, gardening, babysitting her grandbabies, volleyball, softball, watching golf, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. She was a member of Elliott Creek Presbyterian Church in Bronson, Iowa, and the Sioux City Elks Lodge 112.

Jeanie is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Pat) Dean; son, Scott (Jamie) Main; grandchildren, Cheyanne, David, Cori, and Colby; siblings, Dave Amick, Randy Amick, Lois Amick, Bill (Tony) Amick, Andy Amick, and Tammy Amick; and in-laws, Mike (Deb) Main, John Main, Pat Main, Walt Main, Char (Doug) Rose, Lorri (Jeff) Persinger, and Gail (Bruce) Anderson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Florence; husband, Dan; and brothers, Allen, Rick, and Terry Amick.
