Marie Rudder

Marie Rudder, 78, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at a local nursing home in Sioux City, Iowa.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel (1801 Morningside Ave). Funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel with Lorna Peters officiating. Her final resting place will be Floyd Township Cemetery in Bronson, Iowa.

Marie was born on April 13, 1947, to Richard and Mary (Lalumendre) Stultz in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Central High School in 1965.

On November 24, 1964, Marie married Michael E. Rudder. Michael’s military service led the couple to move to Rhode Island and South Carolina in 1965. They returned to Iowa in 1976. Later they moved to Lawton in 1984. Marie was employed with Kind/Knox (now Gilita USA Inc.) for 30 years before she retired. In her spare time, Marie enjoyed playing Euchre, reading, crosswords, bowling, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Community Presbyterian Church.

Marie is survived by her husband, Michael Rudder; daughters, Kathy (Buddy) Norris and Joyce (Greg) Soule; son, David Rudder; grandchildren, Brendan (Brittany) Norris, TJ Norris, Jaqueline (Bryan) Smith, Jessica (Aaron) Underwood, Mercedes (Cale) Allen, Noel Penton, Grace Rudder, and Jacob Rudder; 9 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers, Steven (Jan) Stultz and Jerry (Jody) Stultz; sister, Carol Blanford; and sisters-in-law, Carmen Stultz, Carolyn Stultz, and Mary Stultz.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Stultz; and brothers, William Stultz, Kenneth Stultz, Donald Stultz, John Stultz, and Larry Stultz; and a grandson in-law, Mitchell Penton.
