Lois (Roberts) Copple, 91, of Sioux City, IA passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at a local nursing home.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Grace United Methodist Church (1735 Morningside Ave). Visitation with the family present will begin at 9:30 AM. Her final resting place will be Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA.
Lois was born May 22, 1935, to Edward and Rosa (Wenger) Roberts on a rainy day in the little red house in Thurston County, NE. She went to rural schools and graduated from Winnebago in 1952.
She married Jace LeRoy Copple on June 1, 1954. They lived in St. Paul, MN, Sioux City, and Madison, AL.
Lois worked as a donut maker at Sunshine Foods, at the Morningside Sioux City Public Library, the Sioux City Schools, and was a bookkeeper for Sioux Rubber. After retiring, she worked as a MOPS helper for five years.
Lois joined Rustin Avenue Methodist in 1953, transferred to Madison Methodist in Alabama in 1964, and then Grace United Methodist in 1973. She was a 40-year member there, belonged to the circle, and was a volunteer.
Lois loved to sew and do crafts. She was a Scout Den Mother, taught Bible school, and volunteered for the Red Cross in Alabama.
Left to mourn her are her children, Kerry (Lori) Copple of Houston, TX, Nanette (Kerry) Fladung of Sioux City, and Susan (Kevin Wessel) Copple of Lawrence, KS; grandchildren, Natashia Copple of California, Trevor Copple of Alaska and Vanessa (Michael) McCrann of Colorado, Micah (Cammie) Copple of Texas, Anna (Nate) Fenton of Japan, Joy (Matt) Frick of Arkansas, Luke (Madison) Copple, and Bethany Copple of Texas, Royce Fladung of Nebraska, Roger (Micah) Fladung of Iowa, Logan (Rada) Fladung of Illinois, and Teressa Copple of China; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jace; son, Kevin; brother, Wayne; and a brother-in-law, Don.
