Lesley Nicole Perera, 51, passed away May 6, 2026, at an Omaha area hospital.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service. Resting place will be Logan Park Cemetery.

Lesley was born on December 30, 1974, in Sioux City, IA. She was a lifelong resident of Sioux City and graduated from West High School in 1996.

Lesley was a gentle soul who found joy in life’s simple treasures. She loved Kermit the frog, baseball hats, music, sticks, leaves, watches, and flowers. Her smile, unique spirit, and quiet appreciation for the little things made her unforgettable to those who knew and loved her.

Above all else, Lesley loved her family deeply, especially her mother, who devoted her life to caring for her with unwavering love, patience, and compassion. Their bond was extraordinary and unbreakable. Through every challenge and every season of life, her mother remained faithfully by her side - not only as her caregiver, but as her protector, best friend, comfort, and faithful sidekick. The love they shared was profound and could be felt by everyone who knew them.

Lesley also shared a special bond with her stepdad, Bob, whose love, presence, and care meant so much to her throughout the years. He was her favorite snack buddy and had a way of making her smile. She loved being with him and found comfort, happiness and security in the family they shared together.

Lesley is survived by her parents, Robert Olson and Bonnie Olson of Sioux City; her sister, Jenny (Jessie) Robinson of Omaha, NE; her brothers, Ronnie Perera of Sioux City, Ryan (Ana) Perera of Los Angeles, CA; and her grandfather, Jerry Perera. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Satterwhite and grandmothers, Maxine Satterwhite and Joann Perera.

The family would like to thank everyone who cared for, supported, and loved Lesley throughout her life.
