Kelly L Lyman

Kelly L. Lyman 64, of Sioux City, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026, in Sioux City, Iowa.

Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Larkin Chapel (2320 Outer Dr N in Sioux City) with Neil Peck CLS officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 12:00 PM.

Kelly was born on March 9, 1962, to Harvey and Georgia (Singer) Miller in Beresford, South Dakota. She and her family moved from her place of birth to Canton, South Dakota and then to Hawarden, IA, where Kelly attended Hawarden schools and went on to attend Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City with an associate’s degree in accounting before settling in Sioux City, Iowa.

Kelly took a position at Siouxland Sand and Gravel before owning a towing company, Lyman’s Towing Co. She was a craft wizard and enjoyed quilting.

Kelly was a very giving person. Her love of dogs spurred her to toward pet activism, where she rescued over 10 dogs. She was also part of the Rosecrance Jackson Women’s Auxiliary. Kelly’s greatest joy was watching her grandkids play sports (especially Tyler’s baseball) and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings.

Kelly is survived by her 2 children, BJ Kjose of Sioux City, Brandy Kjose of Sioux City; 3 grandkids, Rachael, Cory, and Tyler; 2 great-grandkids, Aleigha and Ariella; sister, Kim Dehann; brother, Buz Miller; sisters, Deanna Miller, Ronnie Brown, and Joe Huitema and her husband (Thomas); brother, Lloyd Miller and his wife (Joyce); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
