John Robert Knowles

John Robert Knowles was born on August 21, 1954. Following some difficult final months, he passed away at home, surrounded by loved ones, on May 14, 2026.

John was born to Robert Eugene Knowles and Betty Lou (Harding), in Sioux City, IA. John graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1971.

John worked for Wilsey Company for many years. He drove pilot car, delivering mostly for SpaceX as his final job. John traveled the country after high school.

He enjoyed golfing and fishing over the years. He was an avid Huskers fan and loved telling stories.

John is survived by his daughter, Chandra and Andy Dicus, and their sons, Tucker and Ravi; his sisters, Roxanne, Robin, and Billie Jo; brothers, Joe and Scott; and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Special thanks to his sister, Robin, whose unwavering devotion and loving care allowed him to remain comfortable at home in his final months.
