Jerry W. Walker

Jerry W. Walker, 82, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at a local hospital in Sioux City, IA.

A memorial service will be 10:30 am Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Avenue, with visitation one hour prior.

Jerry was born April 23rd, 1942, to Paul and Leonne (Renard) Walker.

Jerry was a bricklayer, a profession in which he took great pride. Jerry married Dixie Lee March in June of 1989. He also served his country with honor in the 185th Air Guard for 6 years. 

A man of many passions, Jerry had a love of golf, Corvettes, Elvis Presley, sports, music, dancing, and art. His artistic spirit and love for music brought joy to those around him. He was also an active member of the Senior Center where he enjoyed running bingo, and making others laugh and being involved in the community.

Jerry was preceded in death by his firstborn, Joe Walker; his parents, Paul and Leone; brother, Richard Walker; and his sister, Donna Huseman. 

Jerry's life is celebrated by his two daughters, Candis Williams and Jamie Shae; and his grandchildren, Kayla, Kai, and James; his ex-wife, Dixie and her two daughters, Tara Flewelling, and Mikelle Flewelling-Gaines; his son, Travis; and their six children.
