Jerome “Jerry” Lawrence Henningfeld, 95, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, after a brief illness.
Jerry was born on August 11, 1930, to Lawrence Henningfeld and Adriana VanMispilar. He graduated from Rock Valley High School and later attended technical school for electrical maintenance.
Jerry proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as a bombardier. Following his military service, he built a long and dedicated career as an electrician with NutraFlo and previously worked as a truck driver for Kaydee Stockyards and NutraFlo. Known for his strong work ethic, Jerry continued working until the age of 82.
Jerry married the love of his life, Sharon (Hefner) Henningfeld, and together they built a life centered on family.
He enjoyed coaching and teaching kids how to play baseball and was often found cheering from the sidelines at his children’s and grandchildren’s games. Jerry believed in staying busy and took great pride in maintaining his yard and home. His dedication, reliability, and unmatched work ethic were qualities that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sharon Henningfeld; his children, Brian (Rebbel) Henningfeld of Sioux City, Iowa, Paul (Jill) Henningfeld of West Jordan, Utah, Todd (Danna) Henningfeld of Sioux City, Iowa, and Sheila (Tom Foxhoven) of Sioux City, Iowa.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jace, Jordan (Rem), Hailee, Callee, Malia, Cody, Alex (Jorge), Alexandra, Brody, Carsyn, and Cassidy; and his great-grandchildren, Hayden, Owen, Witten, Micha, (and baby coming soon), Payton, and Preslee.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, four sisters, and a brother.
Jerry will be remembered for his dedication to his family and the example he set through a lifetime of integrity and hard work.
