Janet Irene Bohlke, 71, of South Sioux City, Nebraska. Passes away peacefully on April 9th, 2026.
Jan was born on December 26, 1954, to parents Edward and Elizabeth (Flamming) Uhl; she was the 9th of 10 children. She is survived by her husband, Rocky, and two sons, Shane and Travis (Kara). Three sisters: Jean (John) Cole, Audra Hindman, and Carol Gray. Five brothers: Paul (Janice) Uhl, Edward (Jeannine) Uhl, Carl Uhl, Jeffery Uhl, and Dennis (Ann) Uhl.
In addition, she is lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren: Mallorie, Blake, Paige, Colton, Jordan, Braylon, Denver, and Cameron; and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Noel.
After attending Hinton High School, Jan became a dedicated Certified Nurse Assistant with Regency Square for 42 years.
Jan was a strong, loving, and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a source of love and warmth to everyone who knew her. Jan’s kindness, generosity, and gentle nature touched the lives of many. She enjoyed cheering on the Denver Broncos, fishing, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her memory will live on in our hearts.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Liz Uhl, her brother, Gary Uhl, and her in-laws, Tom and Joanne Bohlke.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Christy Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave at 9:30 AM. Funeral services to follow at 11 AM at the Christy Smith Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Mapleton, Iowa, at Saint Mary’s Cemetery. Following the burial, there will be a luncheon at the Izaak Walton League in McCook Lake, South Dakota.
