Elaine "Elayne" Marie Marshall

Elaine Marie (Petersen) Marshall 64, passed away in Sioux City on Monday, May 18, 2026. She was born in Denison, Iowa on April 3, 1962, to Waneta Davis.

Elayne, as she was known, was raised by her grandparents, Bill and Louise Petersen at Anthon. She attended school in Anthon, Iowa. She graduated from Brookhaven High School in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Elayne received an Associate Degree from Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kansas. She also attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Elayne worked at Coffeyville Community College, a place she loved. She also worked at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. Elayne loved her family, kitties, Willie Nelson, and her friends. She had many friends.

Elayne is survived by her mother, Waneta of Sioux City, IA; her aunts and uncles, Julie and Robert Sperling of Salt Lake City, Utah; Jane and Michael Fujinami of Murray, Utah; and nieces and nephew. She is preceded in death by her stepfather, Tex Davis; grandparents, Bill and Louise Petersen; and step-grandparents Hilton and Cornelia Davis.

A family run funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM at United Lutheran Church, 315 Hamilton Blvd., Sioux City, Iowa. The funeral home will not be involved with the service.
