Donna Claire Wooldridge

Donna passed away in Sioux City, Iowa on February 11, 2026. Donna was born in Monticello, Iowa on April 9, 1936. She attended Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) where she obtained her elementary teaching certificate. She taught for several years prior to devoting her time to raising her family. When her children became older, she became the Gift Shop Manager at Mercy Hospital for 20 years.

She was an avid reader. Donna was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, serving on many committees, teaching Sunday School, as well as enjoying Bible study sessions. She was involved in the community, especially League of Women Voters, serving as President. She was a 2,000-hour volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital. Even with all these activities, she was always about her family. She was an amazing cook, loved having her family together, and was always so loving to all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jerry; sisters, Jeanne and Nadine; brother, Bob; five children, Teresa, Michele (Bruce), Scott (Jodi), Amy, and James (Missie); 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; special grandson, Blu Whitlock; and special nephew, Eric Thatcher.

A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will be held at a later date.
