Donna Ruth Griep

Donna R. Griep, 81, Sergeant Bluff, formerly Sioux City, IA, passed away July 25, 2026, at Pioneer Valley Living and Rehab in Sergeant Bluff.

Donna was born on February 26, 1945, to Walter and Ruth (Barnes) Conner. She grew up near Kinglsey and as a young girl the family moved to a farm near Lawton. She graduated from Lawton – Bronson High School. Donna married Duane Merle Griep on June 10, 1961, in Moville, IA. They raised a son, David. She worked for Johnson Biscuit, did in-home childcare and was a homemaker. She also raised Chihuahua’s.

Survivors include her son, David Griep and his wife Chasity; two stepchildren, Kyla and Jasmine; two sisters-in-law, Teri Langholz and Lorraine Downey and her husband Larry.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ruth Conner; husband, Duane; and two sisters, Pauline Warstler and Marlene Luse.

Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel (1801 Morningside Ave) with Visitation starting at 9:00 AM. Her final resting place will be Memorial Park Cemetery.
