Debra Kay Hansel

Debra Kay Hansel, 69 of Sioux City, Iowa died on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, surrounded by her family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 6^th, 2024, at the Christy Smith Larkin Chapel (located at 2320 Outer Drive North in Sioux City) with Pastor Bob Dillman officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm.

Debra was born December 4, 1954, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Elwyn and Catherine (Miller) Glover. She attended elementary school in Sioux City until the family moved to Lawton where she attended school.

Debra married Richard Edwards; and they had one son together, Rick; the couple later divorced. Debra was later blessed with son, Victor. Debra met Vincent Hansel, whom she married and later divorced. Debra worked for Casey's, was a server at Green Gables, and belonged to the VFW Post 1973 Auxiliary. She enjoyed listening to music, playing bingo, visiting with people, and loved spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are her son, Victor (Deanna) Johnson; step grandchildren, Jerrod Black, and Kallie (Lyle) Weir; step great grandchildren Ryker and Teigan; and her son, Rick Edwards; granddaughter, Nicole Ann Edwards; great grandchildren Jax, Max and Jadlyn;  step-sons Shane (Melanie) Hansel, Heath (Erin) Hansel; step-daughter Rebbel (Bryan) Henningfeld; sister, Anita (Darrell) Carpenter; nephews John (Pam) Carpenter and Billy Jo (Bobbi) Carpenter; niece Tina Carpenter and her fiancé Pat Smith, other extended family Shawn (Charity) Hovde, Eric Hovde and Ryan (Tammy) Hovde.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Jason Steven Edwards; brothers, Steven Glover, and David Glover.
