Deborah J. Monzo

Deborah J. Monzo, 71, passed away on April 3, 2024, with her children by her side, at a local nursing facility in Sioux City, Iowa.

Per her family’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place in May. Gifts or flowers may be sent to her daughter Carrie at 906 Haverford Dr., Papillion, Nebraska 68046.

Deborah was born on July 18, 1952, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Howard Curry and Joann Green. She graduated from Heelan High School in 1970. After graduation, she was a trainer for services at LongLines, later becoming MCI Communications. After MCI Communications closed its doors, Deborah worked various careers around Sioux City. 

She is survived by her son Shawn Anderson and his fiancé Sonia; daughter Carrie Kay Distefano and her wife Regina; her grandchildren Madison, Austin, Mark (Chyenne), and Kodey; and her great-grandson Otis. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.
