Deborah Lee Hoffman, 72, of North Sioux City, passed away on May 20, 2026, in Marysville, Kansas.
Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel (1801 Morningside Ave) with a Visitation taking place one hour prior.
Deborah was born on July 29, 1953, in York, Nebraska, to Donald and Murna (Scholz) Taylor. The family moved to Sioux City, Iowa, where Deborah graduated from Central High School in 1971. She also studied at Western Iowa Tech Community College.
On December 5, 1975, Deborah married Dennis Schlichting. The couple were married for almost 17 years before they divorced in 1992. Deborah moved to North Sioux City, South Dakota in 1998. On July 8, 2012, she married Steven R. Hoffman in North Sioux City, and the couple spent almost 13 years together before Steven’s passing in July 2025.
Deborah worked at Younker’s and was later employed at Casey’s General Stores for over 30 years. She even owned a couple stores, such as My Little Treasures in North Sioux City. In her spare time, she loved spending time with her grandkids. She enjoyed crafting, thrifting, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, and doing puzzles.
Deborah is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Mike) Raasch and Lina (Chris Riley) Schlichting; grandchildren, Kailey, Jaina, Jade, Amber (Deshaun Zimmerman), Cole, Quinten, Zander, and Marley; great-grandchild, Mateo; sister, Sharon (Jim) Dahlquist; former husband, Dennis Schlichting; as well as 2 nieces.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Murna Taylor, and husband, Steven Hoffman.
