David A. Blanford

David A. Blanford, 74, died Monday, February 26, 2024, at his residence in Sioux City, IA.

A visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Larkin Chapel, 2320 Outer Drive North.  A memorial service will be 11:00 am Friday, March 1, 2024, at Christy-Smith, Larkin Chapel.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.christysmith.com.

David Arnold Blanford, the son of Robert and Joyce (Chrestensen) Blanford was born June 8, 1949, in Sioux City, IA.  He graduated from Central High School in 1968.  David was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1969, where he served honorably.

On January 23, 1970, David was united in marriage with Paula MacGregor in Sioux City.  He worked with his father, installing roofing and siding.   David was then employed with Custom Craft Distributors in the warehouse, Kalin’s Plumbing and Heating, and Briggs Plumbing and Heating.  He retired in 2010.

David enjoyed camping and taking cruises in the Hawaiian Islands, which he and Paula did five times.

David is survived by his wife, Paula of Sioux City; children, Jeremy (Alyssa) Blanford of Fennimore, WI, Stephanie (Terry Coddington) Blanford of Sioux City; grandchildren, Zackary Schoenherr, Andrew Schoenherr, Joaquin Mack, Elijah Mack, Jasmine Lewis; brothers, Darrell Blanford of Jasper, IA, Darwin (Debbie) Blanford of Onawa, IA; and his beloved grandpuppies.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dan Blanford; and sisters, Rhonda and Roberta.
