Daniel Joseph Torno

Daniel J. Torno, 68, of Sioux City passed away on June 30, 2026, at a local hospital.

A Celebration of Life service will be on July 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Christy-Smith Funeral Homes Morningside Chapel with Neil Peck CLS officiating.

Daniel was born March 12, 1958, in Sioux City to Donald and Mary (Schimberg) Torno. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated from East High School. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged. He worked for Heyl trucking for many years becoming a million-mile plus driver for the company.

Survivors include his sister Duwanna (Rick) Chesley; 2 nephews, Jeremy (Debra) Chesley, Jason (Amanda) Chesley; 7 great nieces and nephews, Sidney, Alexis, Emma, Nate, Cheyanne, Tyson and Brooklyn; a special friend, Carter Hamman and his girlfriend Lexi; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
