Clare Ann Tracy (Walsh)

Clare Ann Tracy, 71, of Sioux City died Monday, June 25, 2007, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with Monsignor Roger Augustine officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Christy-Smith Larkin Chapel. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

The former Clare Ann Walsh was born Dec. 21, 1935, in Sioux City, the daughter of Ralph and Pearl (Quinn) Walsh. She was raised in Waterbury, Neb., and graduated from Waterbury High School in 1953. She moved to Sioux City after high school. She worked for the telephone company as a telephone operator.

She married Tom Tracy on Sept. 1, 1956, in Sioux City. The couple moved to Kansas City, where she worked for a utility company. They returned to Sioux City in 1967. She worked at Mercy Medical Center - Sioux City for more than 25 years. She started at St. Vincent's Hospital in the Laboratory. She then worked in the Human Resources Department, before working in the Same Day Surgery Department. She retired two years ago.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the church confraternity. After her retirement, she worked as a volunteer at Mercy Medical Center - Sioux City. She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of card clubs, where she would play bridge and bunko. She loved to travel, but what she loved most was spending time with her family and friends, especially her two grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Sharon and Fred Weber of Omaha; a son and his wife, Shawn and Jennifer Tracy of Portland, Ore.; two grandchildren, Jordan and Jenna Weber; two sisters, Mary Lou and her husband, Al Cooley of Buffalo Grove, Ill., and Kathryn Hartnett of Sioux City; and two brothers, David Walsh and Jerri Balke of South Sioux City and Sam Walsh and his wife, Lynn of Sioux City.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Tracy, Fred Weber, Sam Walsh, David Walsh, James C. Walsh and James Walsh.
