Charlotte A. Stephens

Charlotte A. Stephens, 95, died Saturday, February 10, 2024, at her residence in Sioux City, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Holy Cross Parish-St. Michael Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.christysmith.com.

Charlotte Stephens was born in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Anna and Harold Stephens.   She attended Sioux City schools, graduating from East High School in 1946.  She then attended St. Joseph Mercy School of Nursing.  Charlotte received her registered nurse degree in 1950.  She received her Bachelor’s degree from Westmar College and her Master’s of Science degree from the University of South Dakota.

From 1950 to 1954, she worked as a nurse in California.  She was employed in surgery at St. Joseph Hospital for five years, then worked for Dr. Kenneth Keene for ten years, and twenty-seven years as a school nurse for the Sioux City Schools.

 She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

 Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Harold Stephens, and a sister, Frances.
