Brian N. Hardenbrook, 69, of Sioux City, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, at a local hospital.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel (1801 Morningside Ave) with Visitation taking place one hour prior.
Brian was born on August 17, 1956, to Donald and Rose (Nielsen) Hardenbrook in Sioux City, Iowa. He and his family lived in Mapleton, Iowa, during Brian’s early years, where he attended Mapleton Community Schools. When he was 13 years old, the family moved to Sioux City, and he attended East Junior and East High.
On November 1, 1975, Brian was united in marriage to Linda C. Hettinger in Sioux City, Iowa. His greatest joy in life was his family, and Brian loved to attend his kids’ and grandkids’ activities.
Brian worked as a soybean plant operator for AGP for 19 years, and then as the Receiving Room Manager at Bomgaars for 20 years. He was dedicated to his work and never took a vacation! In his spare time, he loved to cook and had a great knowledge of music. He was also a big sports fan, rooting for the Hawkeyes and Buffalo Bills.
Brian is survived by his wife, Lin C. Hardenbrook; four children, Amanda Westerhold, Amber Dowd, Allison Miller, and Andrew Hardenbrook; four grandchildren, Ashley, Wednesday, Jocelyn, and Danica; sister-in-law, Lois Hardenbrook; brother-in-law, Dr. Dick (Mary) Hettinger; and sister-in-law, Judy Thousand, sister in-law, Philo Hettinger. as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Rose Hardenbrook; and brothers, Gary Hardenbrook, Earl Hardenbrook, and Mark Reidmann.
