Bonnie Lea Molden, 72, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at her home.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 10:30 am at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes Morningside Chapel (1801 Morningside Ave.) with a visitation taking place one hour prior. Her final resting place will be Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bonnie was born on March 11, 1952, to Clifford and Gloria (Boulden) Carlson in Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up in Sioux City and loved to go to the record store. Bonnie attended Central High School. Bonnie married John Cole in 1969, and from this union had two sons: Chris and Cliff. She later married Dennis Molden in 1987, blending the two families together. 

Bonnie worked at Harold’s Photo, then for MicroTower until her retirement in 2014. She was an avid collector of cookbooks and coins. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, bowling in leagues and tournaments, watching action movies, playing canasta, and traveling to Florida and Arizona during the Iowa winters. She especially loved spending time with her family and eating Mexican food. 

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Dennis Molden of Sioux City; sons, Chris (Sherrie) Cole of Sioux City, and Cliff Cole of South Sioux City, Nebraska; stepsons, Mike (Sheila) Molden of Sioux City, and Steve (Rebecca) Molden of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters, Sandra (Ron) Clarstrom of Andover, Minnesota, and Carol Allaway of Akron, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Lori (Dave) Alexander of Sioux City, and Marlene Molden of Sioux City; brother-in-law, Jerry Wickey of Sioux City; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Glora Carlson; sister, Judy (Don) Most; sister-in-law, Nancy Wickey; brothers-in-law, Don Allaway, Rob Molden, and Bruce (Jackie) Molden; parents-in-law, Mervin and Irene Molden; and stepdaughters, Dawn Harms and Kim Deavult.
