Bill N. Hathaway

Sioux City, IA – William N. “Bill” Hathaway, 44, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at MercyOne Medical Center in Sioux City, IA.

A memorial service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., with visitation one hour prior.

Bill Hathaway, the son of Michael and Beulah (Hogan) Hathaway, was born April 26, 1979, in Sioux City, IA.   He attended North High School.   Bill worked various jobs until he got a forklift operator’s job at Siouxland Recovery.  He also ran a forklift at XPL Logistics and Royal Canin.   Bill was extremely proud of earning his CDL in 2023.

Bill enjoyed playing video games and watching things like football wrestling, and Monster Truck races.  He was also very family oriented.  Bill loved spending time with his family on all occasions. 

Bill is survived by his wife, Kelly Grunig of Sioux City; his children, Belle “Princess” Hathaway and Cayden “Little Man” Hathaway; siblings, Laura (Donald) Witzka of Sioux City, Sonya (Brett) Powell of South Sioux City, NE, Allison (Jamie) Santee of South Sioux City, Spencer Mutter of Sioux City; and many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; sister, Krissy; and many other loved ones.
