Honoring Shea’s love for his country, the family requests that you please come as you are, showing pride for the Red, White and Blue. Our beloved son, who we called “Bubba Boy” and who liked to be called “McNauty”, was an absolute one-of-a-kind. Shea was funny, charismatic, and had a soft soul. He loved music and couldn’t wait to share a new song with us. Shea could fish for hours, although he never left the pole in the water for more than a few minutes at a time. He really enjoyed chilling with friends, gaming, and anything outdoors, especially basketball. He also loved sweets! If it wasn’t marked, it was up for grabs – even if you were eating it! We can hear Shea saying, “Whatcha eating there, daddio?” or “Hey, mom, looks tasty!” Shea could polish off a bag of Sunkist donuts in no time! Tools- oh my, he loved his gadgets and taking things apart. We recall him going through six bikes one summer. Mostly, due to, him giving away parts to help someone out if they needed it. Shea would help anyone if they asked. If you didn’t know Shea, or get the opportunity to meet him, know this, he was seemingly ordinary, yet the most unique, magnificent boy there was. Shea, you were taken from us way too soon and we miss you so very, very much. Rest, be at peace now our baby boy and calm your mind. Play ball with your furry brother Devo and turn that music UP! A few words from us - “I’ll Love You Forever”, the title of the book that became ‘ours’, says it all.” – Love, Mom “I am proud of the man you were becoming, a large piece of my heart is with you. We’ll have a lot of catching up to do when I get there.” – Love, Dad Now, as Shea would have said, “You know, mom and dad, that other stuff…” Shea was a senior at East High school in Sioux City while also working at Menards. Shea loved his country and, although he wasn’t able to, would have loved the honor to serve it. He was a cowboy at heart who loved his boots and jeans. He is survived by his parents, Shane and Pam McNaughton; his sister, Sidney McNaughton; nephew, Brentley McCulley; grandparents, Kyle Burns, Paul and Sue Duncan; great-grandmother, Ellen Burns; aunt, Kristin King; and cousins, Madi King and Ava Castillo. Shea was preceded in death by his grandfather, Art Houchins and great-grandmother, Dorothy Houchins.
