Rebecca Jane Hager, age 66, of Cherokee, IA passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at her residence.
Rebecca Jane Schroeder was born April 5, 1954 in Ames, IA. She graduated from Kingsley High School in 1972. She then graduated from Western Iowa Tech with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
In 1975 Rebecca married Dennis Bainbridge in Missouri, the couple later divorced in 1990. In 1995 she married Pedro Diaz in Sioux City.
Rebecca lived in Kingsley, IA until 1992 when she moved to Sioux City. She worked as a nurse in various nursing homes. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. In 2020 she moved to Cherokee to live with her daughter.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula Bainbridge of Cherokee, IA; grandsons, Alec Shultz of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kobe Grell of Cherokee, IA, Ian Clay of Sioux City, IA; granddaughter, Breana Heath of Cherokee, IA; brothers, Steve (Kay) Schroeder of Kingsley, IA, Gary (Karen) Schroeder of Brooklyn, IA.
She is preceded in death by her father, Luverne Schroeder; mother, Kristine Hager; son, Jeff Bainbridge.
