Mary Elizabeth Bedwell

Mary E. Bedwell, 79, died Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Azria Health Regency Square in South Sioux City, NE.

A funeral service will be 10:30 am Friday, July 30, 2021, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.christysmith.com .

Mary Elizabeth Jones, the daughter of Herbert and Dora Mae (Gravely) Jones was born March 7, 1942, in Crab Orchard, WV. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, WV.

On May 24, 1962, Mary was united in marriage with Darrell B. Bedwell in Pearisburg, VA. She was employed at Zenith, The Sioux City School System as a lunch lady, MCI, and Goodwill. Darrell died July 7, 2000.
Mary loved the outdoors, gardening, collecting leaves, and feeding the neighborhood wildlife.

Mary is survived by her children, Mike (Marsha) Bedwell and Michelle (Scott) Klemmensen; grandchildren, Amanda (Ben) Nakayama, Ashley (Javier) Bedwell, Melissa (Steve) Arurang, Nikole (Brody) Klemmensen, Austin (Courtney) Klemmensen, Brandon Klemmensen; 3 great grandchildren and many loving family members in West Virginia and Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Bill and Jim Jones; and an infant sister, Dora Mae Jones.

The family has requested that memorials be directed to Hospice of Siouxland or Alzheimer’s Association.
