Jane Ellen Knutson

Jane Ellen Wood Knutson, 77, of Sioux City, Iowa, died on September 4th, 2020 from complications due to a stroke, and was gathered into the arms of Jesus. She was preceded in death by her mother Edna Wood, father Richard Wood, and a sister, Judy Wood Wilcox.

A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM with Visitation one hour prior on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel located at 1801 Morningside Ave Sioux City, Iowa 51106 with pastor Ed Treadway officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jane E. Wood was born on August 12, 1943 to Edna and Richard Wood in Sioux City, Iowa. Jane graduated from East High School, then worked at Younkers and Broyhill. She took drafting courses and went into the field of drafting where few other women worked at the time. She worked at Besser-International Pipe, and Sioux Tools for many years.

Jane married Ronald Dean Knutson on Feb 21, 1987, and they enjoyed many good times together as well as traveling, until Ron's death on Feb 17, 2006.

Jane's hobbies were drawing and painting pet portraits, reading books, working puzzles, playing board games and cribbage with neighbors & friends, as well as making people laugh with her joking and sense of humor. After retirement, she enjoyed interacting with people and making them laugh while working at Petco and Sam's Club.

Jane is survived by a brother, Wallace Wood (Kathy), and a sister, Maxine Treadway (Ed), as well as many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She will be missed by family, neighbors, ladies from her Bible study, friends, and her special poodle companion, Billie.
