Domingo Castaneda-Corrales, 70, formerly of Sioux City IA, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022, in Lubbock, TX.
A visitation will be 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Larkin Chapel, 2320 Outer Drive North, with a Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. A Memorial Mass will be 10:30 am Friday February 4, 2022, at Holy Cross Parish-St. Michael Catholic Church with burial in the Correctionville, IA City Cemetery. Domingo was born on August 8, 1951, in Suchil Durango, MX to Jesus and Maria Louisa Castaneda. He moved to Iowa where he met Toni Stines and married her on April 23, 1976. He worked at State Steel in Sioux City where he retired 36 years later. He had three children: Juan, Jaime, and Carmelita Castaneda.
Domingo enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved being outside, going for walks, reading, and writing. He was always on the go, finding something to occupy his time.
Domingo is survived by his current wife, Ramona; his son, Juan and wife, Abby Castaneda; his son, Jaime and fiancé, Danielle Washburn; and daughter, Carmelita and husband, Andrew Emanuel; and grandchildren.
Domingo is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Maria Louisa; first wife, Toni Castaneda; second wife, Sonia Castaneda; and his sister, Salome Coronado.
Domingo welcomed everyone and was loved by many.
