Craig LeRoy Severeide

Sioux City, IA – Craig L. Severeide, 78, died Friday, August 12, 2022, at a local nursing home. The family is being assisted with arrangements by Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel.


Craig LeRoy Severeide, the son of Robert and Verna (Lehman) Severeide was born December 28, 1943, in Sioux City, IA. After high school, he attended Western Iowa Tech to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. Craig then went to work for Countryside Nursing Home.


While living in Minneapolis, Craig was united in marriage with Nina. She died in 2010.


Craig was a long-time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and volunteered for the Meals with a Mission program. Craig was also very proud of his successful many years in AA.


Craig is survived by his significant other, Sheryn McKenzie; son, Doug Severeide; and siblings, Kathy Bender, Larry Severeide, Sherry Severeide, and Barb Severeide. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nina; and a daughter, Emily Severeide.
