Clara Mae Mickey, 92, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020. Per her wishes, a small private service has been planned for July 11, 2020 at Logan Cemetery.
Clara Mae was born on December 14, 1927 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Augustus "Gus" Stidfole and Maudie Mae (Ritchison) Stidfole. She grew up in SIoux City, living much of her life in the Riverside area. She married Jess F. Mickey in 1949, and together they had one son, Brad F. Mickey. Clara Mae worked at the Sioux City Journal as a proof-reader for almost 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Jessica McDowell (William), and two great-grandchildren (Liam and Winnie), of Kansas City, MO; nephew Bob Bertrand (Mary) of Okoboji, IA; many other nieces and nephews; and a daughter-in-law Lisa Mickey of McCook Lake, SD.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess; her son, Brad; her parents; and two siblings.
