Brandon Paul Sands

August 21, 1986 - February 6, 2020

Brandon Paul Sands, 33, of Allen, Nebraska, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020. A visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2020, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at First Lutheran Church in Allen, NE. Brandon was born on August 21, 1986 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Thomas and Vickie (Huggenberger) Sands. He attended school in South Sioux City, Nebraska through first grade, then attended Allen Public Schools in Allen, Nebraska until his graduation in 2005. He attended Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska, graduating with a degree in computer information systems in 2010. During high school, Brandon was very active in band, choir, FFA, and football. He received his State Degree in FFA in 2005. He was lucky enough to perform in two college bowl games with the band. He also played roles in two high school musicals. Brandon married Keri Odens on June 6, 2009. They later divorced. Brandon was a QA Compliant Specialist at Weston Foods in North Sioux City, South Dakota at the time of his death. Brandon is survived by his parents, Tom and Vickie of Allen. He also leaves behind aunts and uncles, Garry and Cheryl (Huggenberger) Jacobson of Akron, Iowa, Mike and Kathy Huggenberger of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska, Debra Olson (Huggenberger) of Houston, Texas, Mark Huggenberger of Omaha, Nebraska, Gerald Jr. and Barbara Sands of Ponca, Nebraska, and David and Debbie (Sands) Burrack of Edmond, Oklahoma, as well as many cousins. Brandon has been welcomed into heaven by his maternal grandparents, Harold Huggenberger, Betty (Huggenberger) Barker and Lloyd Barker, his paternal grandparents Gerald Sr. and Patricia Sands, maternal great-grandparents John and Murel Kleinberg and Otto and Louella Huggenberger, and his paternal great-grandparents William and Erna Green and Rudy Sands.
