Bonnie E (Shoaf) Scott, 78, of Elk Point, passed away at home with family by her side. Graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2022, at Smithland Cemetery, Smithland, IA with Pastor Brian Howe, New Freedom Church, officiating. Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, is handling the arrangements. Bonnie was born February 29, 1944, to Paul and Lillian (Stephens) Shoaf in Salisbury, NC. Bonnie graduated from Grand Island, NE in 1962. In 1963 Bonnie married Sam E. Scott Jr. in Grand Island. The couple lived in Grand Island, NE, Siouxland area and in North Sioux City, SD before she moved to Elk Point, SD. Over the years Bonnie worked for IAMS/Royal Canine for many years before retiring in February 2004. Bonnie loved animals, gardening and watching Disney movies. She was a past President of the Eagle’s Club. Survivors include her son, Doug & Heather Scott of Elk Point, SD; sister, Nancy Randall; granddaughter, Summer Scott of Elk Point, SD; nieces, Rebekah (Cole) Blackwell; nephew, Heath Randall. Bonnie was preceded by her parents; spouse, Sam Scott Jr; 2 sisters, Mary Shoaf, Virginia Shoaf; infant brother, Robert Shoaf; brother-in-law, Robert Randall.
