Ardyce Ann Lechner, 95, of Sioux City, Iowa, died on Saturday, November 27, 2021.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Friday at Grace United Methodist Church located at 1735 Morningside Avenue, Sioux City, Iowa, with James Shirbroun officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM before the funeral on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Grace United Methodist Church.

Ardyce was born May 15, 1926, in Hornick, Iowa, to Reuben W. and Ocie Cora (Workman) Mehl. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Holly Springs High School in 1944. She attended Edwards Business School in Sioux City. She married Richard A. Lechner on August 28, 1949, in Sioux City. The couple had three girls: Joan, Jane, and Jill.
Ardyce was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was involved with her church circle, mother's club, and anywhere else she was needed. She also belonged to P.E.O. Chapter JH, and National T.T.T. Society. Ardyce helped with Brownies and Girl Scouts as her girls were growing up. Ardyce loved decorating her home. She especially enjoyed decorating for the holidays.
On Saturday nights Ardyce and Richard enjoyed Saturday night cookouts with friends. During the summer months they enjoyed weekends at their cabin at Lake Okoboji.
Ardyce is survived by her daughter, Joan (Tom) Victor of Axtell, NE, Jane (Don) Marsh of Sioux City, Jill (Bruce) Burns of Valley City, ND, six grandchildren: Jimmy McCarthy, Jennifer (Eric) Gitt, Brian (Claire) Marsh, Scott Marsh (Katie Speicher), Lyndsay Burns (Shawn Palmer), Brittney Burns (Garrett Andel), two great granddaughters: Celia Gitt and Adeline Gitt and one great grandson on the way. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and a longtime friend and caregiver Beverly Arnold.
Ardyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard A. Lechner, grandson-in-law Chris McCarthy, two sisters, and five brothers.
