Adah M. Towne

Adah Mae Rasmussen Tudehope Towne passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church, 203 Port Neal Rd., Sergeant Bluff.

Adah Mae was born to Arthur and Zintka Rasmussen. She graduated from Bronson High and went on to attend and graduate from the National Business School in Sioux City. She started her banking career at Morningside State Bank, then moved on to Valley State Bank where she worked many years. She was a lifelong banker and remained in the business over 30 years.

Adah Mae regularly volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City where she was a counselor and comforter to those who were waiting for loved ones in surgery. She also worked part time at the Gospel Mission in Sioux City.

She was a member of Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church in Sergeant Bluff for many years.
Adah Mae is survived by her daughter Patty Tudehope Ewers; son James Tudehope; sister Doris Funke; grandchildren Dan Ewers, Evie Ewers Fujimoto, Lee Towne and Travis Towne; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Zintka Rasmussen; brothers Everett and Raymond (Bud); sister Lucille King; first husband Daniel Tudehope; and second husband Orville Towne.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted for the Stephen Ministries at Shepherd of Peace.
