Mary C. Watts, 63, of North Sioux City, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in North Sioux City. Visitation will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 3 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes.
Mary Catherine Newburn, the daughter of Charles and Betty (Hodgins) Newburn, was born on Nov. 28, 1954, in Sioux City. She attended Bishop Heelan Catholic High School. Mary then worked at John Morrell & Co.
In 1979, Mary was united in marriage with Dan Knight. In 1993, Mary was united in marriage with William "Bill" Watts in Elk Point, S.D. She was employed as a production foreman at Interbake Foods, retiring in 2013.
Mary's main focus was on her family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and watching comedies on TV.
Mary is survived by her husband, Bill of North Sioux City; children, Danielle Knight and her daughter, Allison, of North Sioux City, Dan (Katy) Knight and their children, Natalee and Julian, of Omaha; stepchildren, William Lee (Carrie) Watts and their children, Shaw and Audra of Farmington, Minn., Jennifer (Roger) Schoenherr and their children, Daylan and Dash, of Sioux City, and Robert Watts of Sioux City; siblings, Charlotte (Jerry) Collins of Sioux City, Bob (Carol) Newburn of Waterbury, Neb., Mike (Jayne) Newburn of Sioux City, Pat (Mary Jo) Newburn of Sioux City, Chuck (Mary) Newburn of Sioux City, and Richard Newburn of Sioux City; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family has requested that memorials be directed to the Siouxland Humane Society
