Helen M. Cooper, 98, of Littleton, Colorado, died Monday, May 28, 2018, at Denver Hospice. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 5 at Christy-Smith Funeral Home, Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4-8pm Monday with family present 6-8pm
Mrs. Cooper was born August 31, 1919, in Sioux City, the daughter of Andrew and Chrissie Maurer. She graduated from Central High School and attended National Business School in Sioux City.
She married Clifford Olson on May 24, 1940, and moved to Chicago where he was employed. After being assigned to several different Army bases, they moved back to Sioux City when World II ended. Clifford died on June 20, 1981. She then married Robert Cooper on July 6, 1984. He died on March 12, 2001.
She then moved to Tyler, Texas, back to Sioux City, and then to Colorado where she lived until her death.
Survivors include one brother, Paul Maurer and his wife Marlys of Jefferson, South Dakota; one son, David and his wife, Jean, of Winchester, Virginia; two daughters and their husbands, Judy and John Zimmerman of Littleton, Colorado, and Betsy and Charles Reinert of Harrisburg, South Dakota; six grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Richard and his wife, Marcie, and Dennis and his wife, Sandy, both of Sioux City; and a stepdaughter and her husband, Bobbette and Bruce Acton of El Cajon, California; and seven step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Maurer, of California.
