Evelyn M. Walding

Evelyn M. Walding, 90, died Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Touchstone Healthcare Community in Sioux City, IA.
A visitation will be 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Christy-Smith Funeral Home, Larkin Chapel, with a prayer service at 5:00 pm. A funeral service will be Monday, December 18, 2017, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Sioux City.
Evelyn M. Ballard, the daughter of Earl and Luella (Hitt) Ballard was born September 17, 1927, in South Sioux City, NE. After graduating from high school, she attended Business College.
On September 8, 1948, Evelyn was united in marriage with Richard J. Walding at St. Joseph Church in Sioux City. She was employed with Donley Marketing doing office and factory work. Richard died January 16, 1998.
Evelyn was a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader, and Boy Scout Leader. She also was in the Altar Society at St. Michael Church. Evelyn enjoyed fishing, attending her flowers, and spending time outdoors.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Vince (Sue) Walding of Lincoln, AR, Joyce Gastro of Sioux City, Leo Walding of Woodbury, MN; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Donna Nelson; and a sister, Betty Schultz.
